Our Story

My love of candles started in 2018 when I started rescuing forgotten candle jars and antique crystal bowls — the kind you’d find tucked away in a cupboard or on the dusty shelf of an antique store. Instead of letting them gather dust, I gave them a second life.

What began as creative curiosity, quickly turned into something bigger. Friends started asking if they could buy one. Then one thing led to another and before long, Carlton St. Candles was created.

Today, supported by my husband Steve, our range has a distinctly vintage vibe. Each piece feels like it belongs on a well worn dresser, a side table with flowers, or a sunlit window ledge.

We use premium coconut soy wax blended with some of the finest fragrances available. They aren’t the cheapest — and they’re not meant to be. These are candles that burn with a smooth, creamy finish and release a fragrance that gently fills the room, lingering long after the flame is snuffed.

Sustainability isn’t an afterthought. Every vessel is reclaimed glass or thoughtfully chosen to be reused around your home. When the wax is gone, you decide what the next story looks like by repurposing the jar around your home.

Each candle is hand-poured in our studio in New Town in Southern Tasmania. Small batches. Careful curing. Thoughtful details.

Because we believe a candle should do more than scent a room. It should encourage time for reflection and moments of stillness and calm.

Thanks for your support!
